Hi,
The timing chain on my 2011 1.2 3cyl Polo has either jumped or stretched at 100k miles. The car still runs, albeit somewhat poorly, so I don't think it has done any damage which is lucky (I won't be turning it on until fixed in case it gets worse).
I understand there has been a number of redesigns of the timing chain set on this engine and the 1.2 TSI.
I can find lots of reference to the part numbers that are an upgrade for the 1.2 TSI, but nothing for the 1.2 3cyl.
So I just want to check, are there upgraded later parts for the 1.2 3cyl that I could install? If so what part numbers would I be looking at?
Or should I just go and slap in whatever VW parts gives me?

What about skoda, I've read somewhere that Skoda implemented some new-er type of sprockets or something to aid the problem of chains on tsi engines

The TSI engine has had many revisions regarding the chain, but the vehicle in question is not a TSI
