Passanger door won't open

Hi guys
first post on here
Basically I trashed my passanger side wing mirror by bashing it off a jeep going about 20km/h
Its not down with a mechanic having a new mirror fitted but ive been told the door also wont open?
is this normal for what im describing?
this is my first car so im clueless really.
any help would be appreciated.
