I don't know about passat but I'm pretty sure A1 seats from the same year fit straight up. Also I heard stories about mk6 golf gti seats being fitted, but I don't have any evidence.

@rotorarm; is it the seats that are the issue or your driving position - it could be any combination of the position of seat cushion height/backrest angle, distance from the foot pedals, reach/rake of the steering wheel, the height of the upper seat belt mounting point or the headrest position that’s the issue rather than the seats themselves. When I first got my 6c Polo GTI, it took a while to find the best driving position for me (I came from a mk6 Golf GTD) and once I’d found that optimum position, I didn’t have any issues with comfort in the 4.5 years I owned the car. Before considering changing your seats, it be worth reading through the guide at the link below on how to find the best driving position for you;

A few years ago someone on the forum fitted mk6 Golf GTI seats to a 6r / 6c Polo. From memory it either required new seat runners to be fabricated, or the existing seat runners needed to be modified to get them to fit. Also, you need to consider whether or not the seat airbag connectors of any replacement seats will plug straight into your car’s wiring loom or whether any modification to the wiring would be required. If your car’s a three door, then any replacement seats would also need to come from a three door model as they’d need to have the tilt forward / easy access mechanism to allow rear seat passengers to gain entry to / exit from the rear seats - if not, it would be a safety issue and probably also be an MOT fail.

Bear in mind that fitting different seats is a modification for insurance purposes so you’d need to inform your insurer and they may charge you an increased premium.
