Hello

Long time visitor but finally need a bit of help...

We have a 2011 Polo and have a problem with the dash lights, they work on side lights, but when we switch it to headlights they go out, which is of course making winter driving a complete pain.

Anyone had this? - known issue maybe? - any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Or would anyone have some idea on where to start? - new switch? do they fail? - had dozens of VW's and the only light switch I've known to fail was the Corrado....

It does seem to have a few electrical gremlins as the passenger door window won't work from the door switch... yet works from the drivers door switch, tried a new switch there and it made no difference.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

At Polo 6C it is possible to program (adapt) those kind of things through thw BCM module. WIth a VCDS cable for example.
I don't know if this is possible to 6R also.

Sounds like a broken light switch

Are the pattern light switches any good? or must I buy a genuine VAG one?
