Hello all!
First off apologies if this is in the wrong place, I did my best to navigate to what I think is the correct forum.
So I got myself a 2018 1.0 S 5dr Polo for my first car, and it's been amazing so far, far far far better than what I expected for my first car. Only trouble is I was hoping to use App-Connect for CarPlay, I read somewhere that it's standard in 2018 model cars, however the app connect option doesn't exist in my infotainment menu - so safe to assume it isn't standard? I haven't been actually able to find out whether my car simply doesn't support it, I need to get it installed OR there's an issue with my car?
Does anyone have any ideas? I really don't know a lot about cars so any help would be appreciated
Thanks

Re: 2018 Polo infotainment question (App-Connect)
Welcome to the forum @Brayford99. App Connect was standard on all models of the AW Polo apart from the ‘S’ model where it was a factory option - see screen print below from the April 2019 price list.
On the facelift version of the previous model of the Polo (the 6c, built from 2014 - 2017), App Connect was an extra cost factory option across the entire model range. IIt was possible to get it retro-activated at the dealers (the cost to do this was around £245), provided the car’s infotainment unit that was compatible with App Connect. In the previous generation Polo, if App Connect hadn’t been spec’d, you’d see the message in the picture below when the ‘App Connect’ icon was pressed - accessed by pressing the ‘Menu’ button alongside the infotainment screen and it was one of the icons displayed on the Menu screen.
However, if you don’t have an App Connect option as per above, then I suggest you speak to your dealer to see if it’s possible to get App Connect added to your infotainment unit. If they say it isn’t possible, then it’d be worth speaking to one of the specialist companies that carry out VW retrofits to see if they can assist or advise you on what the options are for you to get App Connect.
