I have a 6R 2010 1.4 16V 63kW Highline and about a year ago, I noticed "key bat" sign on my dash after ignition on. Common problem, just change the battery in key as usual. But the warning is still there. I tried about 20 different CR2032 batteries, all new ones, different stores, different manufacturers. It wont go away. Both my keys are doing that.

VCDS scan is clear, I can paste it here but I do not think it will be usuful. Any ideas? My girlfriend is already making fun of me because of all the batteries I bought.

Perhaps your key reader coil is in bad shape.

Exactly the warning sign, I think, means "immob problem" I don't think that a key fob battery "low" or "failure" would force that warning light on, I'd think that all that would happen with a flat/discharged fob battery would be a failure for the remote locking/unlocking to operate if you have the standard key fob, ie not KESSY.

VW Group only ever seem to use Panasonic batteries in their key fobs, well from factory anyway, and that is always what I buy and fit when I replace VW Group key fob batteries.

Key bat sign is immo problem? Dont sound right to me but may be wrong. I tried new Energizer batteries right from importer, freshly arrived, no change.

New key for 12 years old car is not an option for me

It is strange that both my keys are getting faulty at the same time. The other key is not used, it was in my desk for ages.

Some, though normally older VW Group cars did have a problem with the key transponder(immob chip) pickup coil wiring - two possibilities, first one, the plug<>socket connection has become loose, second possibility is a cracked track where either of these wires connects to the instrument pod.

Edit:- if I were you I'd not ignore it as if it really is the immob pickup coil then eventually you will get left with a car that will not start and run.

only said that key is inform cluster about low battery
could be cluser - detect wrong signal
could be key
