Engine problem, 2014 POlo GT 1.4

My son has an immaculate 2014 low mileage Polo GT 1.4, it's in stunning condition and the VW warranty has always been continued year on year. It has had an unusual engine problem. One of the spark plugs has shed the porcelain insulation around the centre electrode into the cylinder. The engine has suffered internal damage.
Not sure if the warranty will cover this repair even though it's been serviced since new by VW dealers.
Does any one know of reliable recon engine suppliers? Or have any other suggestions.
