Hi All,
My sons 2008 1.2 polo 3 cylinder failed to start yesterday evening. When turning the ignition over you can hear the solenoid click in but then nothing the starter was replaced about 6 months ago. I think this new starter could now be faulty but I was also thinking there may be a bad earth point somewhere. Does anybody have any guidance on this?
Thanks
Victor

Can you monitor the battery voltage while trying to start.

Yes I can monitor battery volts when turning over, I will do that later. Also forgot It to mention tried to jump start it which failed, then tried to push start it and it also wouldn't turn over.
Re: Starting Problem
A push start will certainly turn the engine over (obviously, as long as the car is in gear with clutch released), it may then start as long as the ignition key is switched on.
