Upgrading from drums to discs.

I am going to upgrade from drums to discs in the near future and was wondering if the brake lines need changing or the original ones are long enough.
Also I know I need to change the handbrake, but I don't know the part number for the new one.

Brake cables, hydraulic lines all need to be changed. Hand brake part number is also mentioned in the list.

And I saw there is some coding necessary, but I didn't really understand it.
What should byte 2 and 10 be changed to?
Currently they are both 24 on my car.

I will come back with the complete answer in a few hours since I don't have a VCDS cable myself and have to go to my friend to use it.
The only thing I know is that it's an ESP8.2i module. I'm not sure if this is the type that you mentioned.

The coding for your LHD Polo 6R 1.2 TDI M5 with XDS, HHC and without TPMS with VIN 11001 is 210228E3416E00B3842514E282D200421500 for 256mm front discs and 232 rear discs
