I need a replacement engine bay undertray for my 2012 6R polo 1.2 petrol. The undertray I've been told is the correct one looks like the pictures below. However looking at those pictures it doesn't look like it will completely cover the underside of the engine. There seems to be that shape which will essentially leave an opening at the bottom. From my previous cars I used to have a front section under tray and the bigger main section. So I'm thinking have the dealers only quoted for one section of the undertray? Is there another section to this undertray? Can anyone kindly assist? Thanks.
Pics of the undertray that I've been told I need below.

You can have this undertray, with the exhaust at the front that runs underneath, or a full undertray with the exhaust at the rear like the TDI and GTI.

I have the smaller undertray similar to that on my 2017 1.2tsi, rear exhaust.
This would be nice though:

... until it comes time to change the oil.

1.2 TSI 6R has the turbocharger and exhaust at the front.
Re: 2012 Polo 6R undertray confusion
I'm a little confused. Looking at the underside of my car I can see the exhaust running from the front to the rear. So if I have this undertray, does that mean there will be a big opening under the car? Essentially being able to see the ground from the top ?

john2k,
I have 6R 1.2 TSI DSG and my car had this flimsy plastic guard.
I am not sure if there is 6R6805915A which is part of front bumper (which is similar to images you have posted)
As written in thread I wanted to have large under body protection and there are/were different opinions about if it works or not.
However this is how it looks.

When standing in front with bonnet open -- you can see the hole.
A cat, mouse can definitely climb up from bottom inside engine bay.
Answer is -- Yes
