Just got this months Golf+ magazine and had a look at the VW Forum show report and there was something that I thought might be of interest...

A VW Approved Polo 1.8T.

Its on Page 89, top left. The caption says "1.8T-engined Polo is a genuine VW option"

In the main story it says...

"...which this year housed a yellow 1.8T Polo, available through VW, but as it's put together by another company, it'll cost you 40,000 euros. For that you get a 1.8T, Recaro seats, roll cage, alacantara and a very cool looking car"

So that means you can walk into a German VW dealer and order a 20vT Polo there and then!

What do we reckon the chances of VW UK adopting this stance are? Perhaps a question for you to ask them Deek?

I was speaking to them about the 1.8T the other day.

They've confirm that that engine is on the way out and will definately not be appearing in any new models because it doesn't comply with the new "Euro IV" emmission regulations.

I *do* however know the car you're talking about... It was badged as part of their "Individual" range, if I recall... I'll have to see if I can track down some pictures of it...

Deek.

If it helps it was the pastel yellow colour on what looks like some 17" multi spoke alloys.

Looked v similar to the Polo RD pics i've seen.

To be honest would it not be cheaper (i also saw this picture in the mag) to buy the polo and then have an engine converstion?

Didn't you guys get the memo? I posted pics of this thing ages ago.

It was at Castrop Rauxel, and Wörthersee...

Ok enough bashing. It's sweet. I want one.
