Brake pedal dragging

Hi folks

My brake pedal is dragging slightly on the actuator behind the pedal, this is causing the brake lights to remain on and the brakes being engaged slightly(enough that the car wont move on its own whilst in D or R)

If i put my foot under the pedal and lift it all problems go away.

My question...is there an adjustment on the pedal or actuator? OR am i just going to have to get one of them replaced?

By the way, no fault codes, pads and calipers are all fine and bled properly.

2016 Polo gti, 1.8 tsi engine

Yes brake fluid has been done recently.

Rear pads were changed and rear caliper boots were done, so fluid was changed then. Prob 2-3 weeks ago

You would need to work out by inspection etc, if any required return springs are still in place, also, if this is being caused by the master cylinder, before buying anything including a new servo.

Edit:- to dismiss the servo, check the brake pedal normal way of operating after you have exhausted the stored vacuum in the servo - after the engine has been switched off.

Sorted

I sprayed some Wurth ultra 2040 into the pedal pivot area, and gave the pedal stop bar that sits across pedal a yank upward with a ring spanner.

All problems gone now. Its my 21year old sons car....i suspect he's been up to no good somehow.
