dipped beam, weak light. any help needed

Post by lolfix101 »

the driver side dipped beam has low output (left hand steer)
the light output is low if you look straight into the round projector glass it looks like the light is only coming from the bottom half of the projector

i think we all go, bulbs or the ballast?

changed the d2s bulbs out and no change was seen, (had osram installed already)
changed the place of the ballast from driver side to passenger side and passenger side to driver side.
Same results as before, driver side still has low output.
measured the voltage up to the ballast and it was 13v with the engine running, so its good.
Double checked the silver chrome reflector inside of the headlight housing and it is good.

please help.

its fixed, finally.

it was the small reflector that is connected to the projector (glass eye)

i bought a super nice chrome spray and it looked really good but it didnt help.

i ordered a reflector for AUDI A6 C5 from a polish website and its same oem fit.

arrived after a week and it works better than the "good" side now, so i ordered another one.

here is a picture of the reflector. mine was a little oxidated in the middle and it affected the whole thing
