Enabling Trip and OK/RESET buttons VCDS

Post by 00m »

My car did not come with a MFSW or the wiper switch that includes the Trip and OK/RESET buttons, so I couldn’t view mpg or anything besides time and outside temp on my MFD.

I’ve just swapped the stalk assembly for one with the buttons, but they don’t work as I assume I’ll have to enable something in VCDS.

Could anyone tell me what it is I need to enable?
Or also is there any other wiring that I would have to do to enable the buttons?

Yes you do need to add three wires to your instrument cluster and code it with vcds.

You will need to run the three blue accented wires on the image and enable byte 1 bit 3 in the cluster long coding.
