2012 polo 6R rear passenger door issue

Just came back from a trip with its fair share of bumpy roads and it seems one of my rear passenger doors won’t open from the outside but will open from the inside. Searching online reveals solutions such slamming the door (tried that with no success) and manipulating both indoor and outdoor handles at the same time . I am still not too familiar with all things car related but it seems a common issue is a cable that is out of place? I have tried searching around for maybe a specific video/thread relevant to the 6R but older style polos keep showing up instead.
So my question is. Is there a thread/video buried away here that matches my issues or does anyone here have any suggestions/ comments. I am willing to try fix it myself if I can find the right amount of help! Thanks for reading
