fuse box question re aftermarket stereo

Post by fxceltic »

hey, Ive got an aftermarket pioneer headunit, and relevant adaptoor wiring loom from dynamic sounds - Ive used the red cable as per the instructions to run to the fuse box

https://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/volkswa ... g-kit.html

I can get it to power up using the cigar lighter fuse, but it seems that the cigar lighter on the polo doesnt go off when you turn off the ignition, meaning its the old problem of the headunit staying on and draining the battery

can anyone suggest another fuse i can use that is ignition based? I dont have a meter to check myself, and randomnly trying them hasnt yielded any results

thanks

If it's like a Citroen C1 you swap the the red and yellow bullet connections over so for both you get one end is red and the other end is yellow.

RED---------------YELLOW
YELLOW----------RED
