2008 BZG Gearbox clatter?

Ive got a Polo 1.2 12v BZG engine (petrol) and the gearbox clatters a bit when the engine (and consequently gearbox) is cold, in neutral. It disappears when I push the clutch in, thus leading me to believe its the gearbox, but I suppose it could be something to do with the clutch.
The noise isnt bad, but it's noticeable, and disappears when it's warmed up. Theres no noise when driving in any gear, and the car otherwise drives great (80000 miles). Is this anything to worry about, or do they all do it?
