Hi,

I would like to replace brake discs and pads on my wife's 2014 Polo (1.2 TSI BMT 66 kW engine code: 6C1) but the service book sticker does not contain any PR numbers for these components.

Does anyone know PR numbers for front and rear brake discs and pads for this car or could direct me to a resource online where I could search for them?

Have a look in the boot. There is normally a build sticker stuck to the inside of the spare wheel well.

The build sticker stuck to the inside of the spare wheel well has the same PR numbers as the ones on the sticker in the service book. None of them are for brakes.

Here is the list of PR numbers I can see on both stickers: 1AS, QI6, 7MM, CU8, H8D, 4KC, 3NC, 2ZH, Q1A, J0S, 8K1, 8M1, 8ID, U0L, 8RL, 8TD, 8WH, I8E.

One way to get this info is to ask any VW dealer's parts dept to provide you with a copy of CAR DATA for that car, you just need to be able to quote the reg number, they should be able to print it out for you while you wait. The list will include most if not all production line options fitted - where there are options, including any extra factory fitted options that where requested when initially ordered.

I can tell you based on you vin

If you don't have time to hand over your VIN to iichel, then, my guess is:-

your wife's car does have the lower output engine, so the front callipers don't have a vertical damper spring on its outside face, if that is so, then that car has 256mm vented front discs, PR code 1ZG or 1LR or 1ZJ.

the rear discs will be solid 230mm discs, PR code 1KK or 1KT or 1KV or 2EJ.

Both these brakes all have the same parts if they have any of the options/versions each for front and rear.

Maybe try going onto ECP website, for a 2014 Polo, they only offer 2 front brake options, this 256mm and 288mm and only a single rear disc brake option.

But, you should still get a copy of CAR DATA for that car if you intend to buy parts for it from out with the VW loop.

Yep I suspect you're right, 256mm discs up front and 230mm discs up rear. PR codes may differ a bit from period to period though an between manufacturer plants.

Post a picture of your front calliper and rear calliper. Maybe its the easiest

Thank you for all the suggestions. I will contact VW dealer and ask for Car Data as I wanted to do other maintenance on this car as well. I had a quick look yesterday at calipers in front and I do not see any spring on their outside face so I agree that they are 256 mm discs up front and 230 mm solid discs in the rear.
