Sport mode

Post by skivy71 »

Almost always drive in M, as gear changes (and the timing) make a big difference to engine and exhaust sound.

However, I'd noticed poor throttle response (like lag and holding on lift) and it was mega annoying.

Anyways, instead of going straight down (D) and left (M), I engaged sport (S) and then (M) and the throttle (and exhaust) was much better.

Almost as good as my BMW M2 (well maybe not, lol).

Anyway, I started question VW retarded design decisions... How often would you engage (M) and not require a raw driving experience? I think never, so if you engage (M), enable (S) by default... that or give me a button?

As it stands, the gear stick operation is quite convoluted... but what's worse, if you drive in (M), you never actually know you're in (S) too, unless you flick it back to centre... as there's NO indicator in the cluster.

Are VW really this dumb?

Perhaps it's just you that's a bit special and different than most vw dsg drivers. I mean, not a lot of people drive an automatic car in manual...
