2014 Polo Gt Blue motion

Post by boomtheroom »

Hi All
Just wondering if this is normal or not..
for those of you familiar to my model u will know that it has 2 cylinder mode that cuts out 2 of the 4 cylinders under low torque /cruising driving situations.
however.. it seems to not switch off always when it should ,ie if you drive slowly the accelerate a little in a higher gear the engine will struggle and rattle ( the same as it would if you tried to take off in 3rd gear from a stop, for example)
it will only do this for a few seconds then will change , but it doesn't sound healthy when it does it..
Anyone else have this issue?

That doesn’t sound like a lot of fun. I’ve had a BGT from new, I’ve never experienced anything like that so I’d say it’s abnormal.

hmmm not many then. maybe ask a local vw specialist as they are mostly vw master techs set up on their own.
they may give an idea without a mainstealer charging you for a diagnosis !!
good luck, let us know if you find anything out
