K dataset with K firmware unfortunately does the same :mrgreen:
I'm looking forward to the telematics retrofit, it's a nice thing to have, adds a lot of safety, at least for my feeling. I hope it works!

Short term plans are to install the Mk8 EA888 gen4 PCV --> https://www.golfmk7.com/forums/index.ph ... mo.429130/
Swap coolant from G13 Evo to G12 --> viewtopic.php?p=586061#p586061 + viewtopic.php?p=598477#p598477

Mk8 PCV done (06Q103495B + 06K103210D). I made my own boost tap with a simple hose barb and 10mm fuel line. Works perfectly.

Could also work on a 6C GTI and related cars. AW GTI probably already has a similar system.

Lots of info on the subject

Upgraded the G13 coolant "Mit Silikat" (factory fill, maintenance free) for G12 Evo. G12 Evo is the successor for G13, even though the name suggests differently.

G13 had the nasty habit of clogging heater matrix cores over time, mostly on TDI engines. I also got rod of the old expansion tank as it had the Silicate teabag, that is known to rupture in some cases. Clogging up the coolant system as well. New bottle: 5Q0121407AA

It's an easy job, but hopefully with great pleasure.

Interesting reads:

A pleasant surprise to see the GW update easily from AA to AG to AR (could have done AR in one go but i had AG dataset, in case I messed up)
No dataset needed, all codings, adaptations and history maintained.
Remember, original FW 5xxx = continental, FW 4xxx is Lear. Lear will to to AG.

DCC slider is still present, no need to re-set battery etc.

Interesting. It appears that the 'DCC slider' (functions) is an additional data set within the GW data set.

I have the impression that since I updated the GW to AR on our Golf7.5 MQB everything 'flows' better, even when new updates are made to other units and all these modification processes with diagnostic tools. I don't know how to explain it clearly, but although with SWs prior to AR everything worked well, on some occasions some intermittent fault would appear that made no sense 🤷‍♂️, which would disappear later with a new ignition cycle or by erasing it with the diagnostic tool.

There are new updates for the GW (Passat, Arteon, ...) but for now I'm sticking with the GW AR and BCM EC combination, I really like how everything 'flows' (no sporadic or intermittent faults/dtcs without sense).

needs a dataset but SWAP + calibration are maintained

upcoming mods:
- 42, 52, BB and BC modules upgrade from 5Q0 HW: E + SW: E to 5Q0 HW: F and SW: K/L
- BCM 084EC
- 2Q0 side assist
- Kessy module to N/Q SW
- I'm unsure if the 084E BCM will work with the 5Q0 slip ring, so Patil inspired me about 5Q1 slip rings. I'll give that a try too.

Intersting 5Q1 BCM, HW44/SW 512 I don't expect lot of changes from 5Q0 937084EC ( HW44/ SW 511), but good to have latest one. There is already SW update for 084EC BCM ( 511 :arrow: 1513)

I hope the new BCM might fix your side mirrors not folding with easy close, though primarily I believe your kessy module needs update to fix the issue. May be your stock kessy module SW is not configured from factory to fold mirrors with easy close, the communication protocol between 6D unit and BCM vary with different HW/SW versions of Kessy unit.

I've already started drafting my electric tailgate retrofit details. Hopefully I will post soon.☺️

iichel, you will need

1. BCM HW 038 or higher
2. Kessy module SW " N" or higher
3. 6D module with SW "Q/T" with correctly modified dataset
4. Kick sensor control module " C " or higher

With above criteria fulfilled, everything should work perfectly. 👍

Sometimes there are disconcerting things in the ETKA, the BCM 5Q0 EC (SW 511) supposedly replaces all those mentioned on the right of the dialogue, including the 5Q1 B (SW 512). It is advisable to be cautious with experiments, that is, do a deep investigation comparing both SWs.🤷‍♂️

It looks like my passat is in the 07xx FW series, so 0755 is currently highest. DB 08xx seems to be for GTE, but I'm not 100% sure.
