Does anyone have any experience fitting the uprated rear beam axle bushes that many have fitted to the mk4 golf from the Mk1 Fabia VRS (6Q0 501 541 E), mk3 Ibiza Cupra R (6LL 501 541), or the mk1 Leon Cupra R (1ML 501 541) to the 6C?

The rear beam axle part numbers don't match but the PR number (0N7) does. However, I'm not sure if that really means anything across different models.

Just from a look and trying to remember the rear beam axle on the 6C (PQ26) doesn't look to be very different from the 9n which shared its platform (PQ24) with the mk1 Fabia and mk3 Ibiza. The part diagrams are also identical but they are mainly illustrative.

Polo 6C, 6R and 9N/3 all share the same rear axle.

Well in that case I'll pick up some mk3 Ibiza Cupra R (6LL 501 541) bushes and have them fitted at some point in the future and report back prices and subjective differences when I do.

Well, I went with the mk1 Fabia VRS bushes in the end as the prices for the Ibiza and Leon Cupra bushes are massively inflated.

Mk1 Fabia VRS (6Q0 501 541 E): £24 each
mk3 Ibiza Cupra R (6LL 501 541): £64 each
mk1 Leon Cupra R (1ML 501 541): £72 each
All prices are from my local dealers but prices online were about the same.

I didn't fit them as I had them done while the car was in for service but my mechanic didn't report any issues with fitting them.

Having driven on them for a few weeks now, the back of the car feels much more controlled. I no longer get a vagueness that would feel like the car was moving about in its own mounts. You can also feel what the back end is doing much better, so any moments of oversteer that would surprise me are no longer as surprising.

In combination with the other suspension bushes I have replaced, specifically, the Ibiza Cupra lower control arms which have a solid rubber bush and fitting Goodyear Asym 6's the steering response is excellent. The steering feel is improved although significantly muted due to the electric rack but the general feeling of what the car is doing underneath you is now very good.

For lack of a better phrase the new bushes are "very confidence inspiring"

As for fitting, there are 2 somewhat agreed orientations of fitting that I could find. These bushes are NOT solid rubber but rather the voids are smaller and or the rubber itself is stiffer. With the added benefit of the end caps helping prevent the ingress of dirt and salt.

I went for the orientation shown in the first image and haven't had any untoward noises but time will tell.

Hopefully, this helps anyone looking for an upgrade to the suspension of their polo Part numbers I used:
2x 6Q0 501 541 E, mk1 Skoda Fabia VRS rear beam axle bushes
2x N10 409 903, rear axle bolts
2x N10 106 402, nuts for rear axle bolts
2x N90 517 304, bolts for rear shock mounting
2x N10 295 101, nuts for rear shock mounting bolts

i'd slap on polyurethane bushings

I did consider using poly bushes but those who fitted them to mk4 golfs reported quite a bit of NVH and I also feared making the back so stiff would start to make the handling worse and or snappy.

The Fabia bushes with black end caps also look like they're factory fitted
