Throttle body cleaning?

Post by wolfie »

Throttle body cleaning? Suns out so starting to think about all the little jobs I'd like to do.

Cleaning the throttle body is on my list. Thing is, if I remove it will I need to re-adapt it? Or is the car smart enough sort itself out. Is there a trick/cheat to get the car to perform one?(CABG 1.2Tsi)

On my 9N3 I never did an alignment or adaptation after cleaning it.
I did not take off the part completely, just cleaned it with a rag.
Just clean it with contact off.
After a few km/miles it adaps itself if nessesary

I assume the 6R/6C will be that smart also

I think the 6C does this every time you start.
At least mine seems to go through a open/close cycle when turning the key before starting. Does weird throttle noises like it is moving it fully open to closed.

6C does automatic adjustment each time engine stop.

But it's always better to perform an adaption true VCDS or OBDElven after cleaning
