Help.LED light error

i installed LED bulb in my tail light.got light error code. looking to set it in BCM as proper LED bulb. i have VCDS but 09 byte 19 only have option for License Plate light LED.
please help.
i have polo gti with bcm 7H0 937 089F

I'm going to guess you have a 6R GTi?
Not sure on the specifics of the BCM in that car but do try doing an adap map of your BCM using VCDS, open it in a spreadsheet and look for "bulb type_of_load adaptations". You can figure out what the bulbs are by translating their current "type_of_load" value and go from there.
Once you've identified which bulb corresponds with which type_of_load value change its value to one that matches the type of bulb fitted as close as possible. For example, for an indicator change to LED indicator, brake light change to LED brake light ect.
This method worked on my 6C GTi but I don't know if the BCM is different between the two or not.

what you're describing works prefectly fine for an MQB based 6C but will not work on the 6R. that must be done via long coding. i'm sure vcds has a label for that.

Cant find much regarding coding in individual LED bulbs just replacing the light cluster altogether.

Some versions of VCDS have long coding helper.
It should be in the bytes or bits

anyone have any idea?right now my temporary solution is by checking "Lamp Diagnostics for Taillights Inactive" option
