Hey guys, looking to get a set of B8 Shock Absorbers for the car, running HR 35/55 on standard shocks and the ride is less say.. less than amicable.
I found a listing for some Blistein B8's on AwesomeGTI listed for £211.68 each (Part No: BIL-35-168577)
However, me being me, I also found a listing on demontweeks for £155.23 with a very similar part number, barring the first three letters (BLS35-168577) when entering the details for my vehicle to check if compatible, it says it's not. Is it likely that these wont fit my GTI 6C?
Also, on another note, is it likely that a majority of the components such as bushes, suspension anything barring the engine parts for the 6R would be compatible with the 6C? - Because there is a listing for a set of B8's on Blisteins site for £163.58, however it doesn't mention the 6C only the 6R.
Sorry if these are stupid questions, I'm not a mechanic, or know a great deal about cars, I'm just getting into the modification scene

I think you'll be fine. Just keep in mind, if you have sport select with electronically controlled dampers, you'll not be able to fit aftermarket shocks.
Otherwise the Bilstein B8 should be a good choice for you.

I don't have the sport button and It's also a manual, I was under the impression the manuals didn't have the sport option, is this correct?

No, not necessarily. I'm talking about the sport select button, not about the S mode for the DSG gearbox. The sport select button is an optional extra on any Polo 6C.

My previous car - a 6c Polo GTI with manual gearbox - had the Sport select button which was part of the optional Sports Performance pack. When the Sport button was pressed, you got;
- firmer suspension than the ‘normal’ default setting
- increase in the fake engine noise
- increased throttle sensitivity
- weightier steering

I see, so if I don’t have the sports button, I’m safe to assume that I’m able to fit aftermarket dampers?

Yes you'll be fine for a set of Bilsteins.
