DSG. Key won't turn to start position.

New here so not sure if this is in correct place.
2014, 1.4 Petrol DSG, won't start. Ignition key turns freely to the on position and dash warning lights all normal but key won't turn to start position, gear selector is in P.
Any help greatly appreciated.
