Does anyone know how to get the instrument panle out.

One of the rattles that my dealer claims doesn't exist can be removed so long as I puch on top of the glass of the instrument binnacle. So I'm thinking of taking the instruments out and packing under the cowl myself.

I've removed the "loose" panel that goes over the top of the steering column and under the bottom of the binnacle's glass and have found a couple of screws about an inch in from each side of the instruments and burried quite deep into the dash. Are these all I have to remove?

Does anyone know how much slack there is on the wiring loom behind the instruments? I don't want to disconnect anything, but am hoping to be able to reach the underside of cowl with the instruments still "wired up" - is this likely?

I'm sure I've seen instructions on how to do this for fitting chrome rings to the Fabia's dials, but can't find these any more -- can anyone offer any advise?

that seems easy


took of the steering wheel this weekend to install a sporty one from raid WITH airbag. That was surprisingly easy too

this one has an airbag; you pass the technial checkup(in Belgium anyhow) every year so that's a big advantage. It's 32cms(about 12inches I think)

only problem is that it costs a fortune with adaptor its about 500euros
But well worth it in my opinion, apart from the cooler look it's great to drive with

I don't think they will, the rev counter wouldn't be a problem but the speedo ring on the Fabia has a slight indent as the trip reset button slightly impedes the edge of the ring. I'd buy the rings for the Polo from http://www.tachoringe.de as these are manufactured for the job.
