UK-POLOS.NET - THE VW Polo Forum

So Newbie here, just recently bought a 1.4 Petrol Polo and have noticed that it has really low idle and sounds a little lumpy but does not stall when at a standstill. I have done a little bit of digging myself on the forums. So far I have cleaned the maf, bought new spark plugs and coils but still to this day it is not running Smoothly with a low idle. I have also had the codes read with nothing to report. This has been covered loads on the forum I know but could anyone with a little more experience guide me in what to check next. Any help would be great, just trying to get the car right for my boy for when he passes his test.

Suggest a compression test.

Thanks for the reply ref the compression test. I have just conducted this and found that all cylinders have strong compression with all similar readings. Nothing was low and looks very healthy. What would you all suggest next?? Any help would be great.
