Radio failed to boot up

As above, first time this has ever happened to the radio in this car, the car had been driven for roughly 5 miles without the infotainment switched on, stopped the car and switched on infotainment system - "car" display on switch on as that is our(my) normal display mode, but no sound in the background, tried turning the volume up, for some strange reason at indicated that it was at minimum level and started indicated that it was increasing but still no sound, pressed mute and it displayed muted, then pressed it again to unmute it, still no sound. Tried turning up the volume again but the display did not show any response to that request, pressed "radio" and "radio starting ....." but nothing completed. So, time to try a reboot, so pressed and held down both controls, system rebooted and radio back working okay. So, I've read about this but in almost 8 years it has never ever happened in that car.

I'm just making a statement really as others no doubt will have "suffered" this in the past and needed to demand a reboot.

... the capricious failures of electronics.
Sometimes nowadays it even happens with other major control units. I guess it's because of software loading... data transmission speed, interference, etc.
A reboot/reset (if possible) or a new power cycle with ignition switch (in case the GW has to receive the missing data) usually resolves these electronic bugs.👍
