Hi, if you open the hood you have a label indicating so.

you can use r134a in both, but in that case you will need to vacuum out all of 1234yf and adaptor for fittings.
I know its sounds like a hack but r1234yf is much more pricey and if someone cant justify the price thats the way

I suppose all new fridge gases will be short in supply when they are first brought to the market, so that will always mean that they are more expensive than the established fridge gas, and also buyers of new cars can usually afford to pay more money.

But, and this is a big but, the claimed reason for this change away from R134A is to improve environmental pollution from the legacy R134A fridge gas - so I would have expected that the gas market in interested areas of the world, would have forced the price of R134A up so much that using the newer gas was always the cheaper option.

So probably this is just another example of "green washing" and an opportunity to grab more cash from customers/punters.

thanks so if I switched to R134a, you need to remove all the old gas and also change the fittings?, is that the grey 2 adaptors and is changing the fittings a big job?

yes, adaptors for high and low pressure side. Maybe your air con guy has these.
