Having a problem with 1.0 TSI Polo and failing Stop Start system. Diagnostic report notes c10a301 (Vaccum Sensor), however struggling to understand what this and what I need to to fix. Any suggestions?
I suspect its around the brake booster pressure, but not 100%...!!
Many thanks

Having investigated other post further seems like I need to replace the brake boost pressure sensor.
Does anyone have a photo of where this and advice on how to remove?
Thank you

The ETKA online images are usually quite realistic, although sometimes there may be slight variations.
I would say that the image above is close to reality because the vacuum hoses are specific to the 6C 1.0 TSI (CHZB, CHZC).

Thank you very much that is so helpful. Do you think this is something a novice could do, seems like a few things in the way that would need removing to get access to the sensor?

Have you already located where the sensor is in your 1.0 TSI RHD?
Please take a picture.
Depending on the VW model and equipment, it may be located in one place or another.
Example: 1.0 TSI LHD DKRF
You may not have to remove any other parts to gain access to the sensor. Just follow the vacuum hose/line until you see it.
Remove the sensor is fairly easy if you do things lovingly enough not to break anything, especially the tabs that hold the sensor.
Clean the connector with Zero Residue Contact Cleaner.

I will take one and post, however from your example yours is below the clip that has the brown, blue and black wires coming out from?
So if I remove that the sensor is what that then plugs into?
So I should clean the connectors first and then potentially carefully remove and replace (if cleaning doesn't fix)?

What you is calling 'clip' is the connector with the wires that is connected to the vacuum pressure sensor, to make it work and transmit the vacuum pressure data to the ABS control unit.
That connector is the one that you must remove and clean the contact terminals with the spray that I mentioned earlier. Also the contact terminals on the sensor. Reconnect it and check if it is possible to clear the fault with the diagnostic tool.
The diagnosis says that the problem is the vacuum pressure sensor through the fault code that you have shown, so you must remove the connector from the sensor, and remove the sensor. Replace it with another sensor and perform the appropriate checks again.
If the diagnostic fault is permanent, you should check the entire vacuum system, check the good condition of the vacuum lines, the non-return valves (one-way), and check the operation of the electric vacuum pump.

Oh dear, from looking at that picture, someone has been quite rough, ie not gentle, with removing some parts.
Maybe leave this task to someone that will not cause more damage as that might work out being the cheapest way of resolving this.

Noted!
That said is the offending sensor within view or hidden well down the rear of the engine bay?
I can’t see it!

Look in your Polo 1.0 TSI
RHD in the same place where the little white arrow points in the following image (from a Polo 1.0 TSI
RHD - pressure sensor):
The pressure sensor is in the vacuum pipe (with curves), which is between the engine and the battery (roughly).
It is not necessary to remove or break anything.
Please take a picture of your pressure sensor. Thanks.

Thank you so much, now located!
So will do as you suggest and clean and test else will order the replacement part for next day delivery!
Much appreciated, will confirm outcome.

Great! Please, if possible, take some pictures to help other or future forum users with the same concerns as you.
Thank you so much!
