no TMC traffic updates

Hi all

i know this topic has been discussed MANY times, however i no longer get traffic updates on the infotainment system.
i am aware that the data for this usually comes down via the classic fm band, and i do get traffic reports via that station.
however when looking at the live traffic updates ii get the message that there are currently no traffic updates.
i have gone to VW who have suggested checking the infotainment system for £100. is it worth getting this done as they most likely wont fix the issue, and just get an aftermarket model instead?
