Seat belt replacement

Hi All, my front driver side seat belt has become very frayed on my 5 door 2007 Polo.
MOT is due soon but I'm struggling to get a replacement.
Those advertised as universal on places like ebay say they won't fit my Polo (not very universal then).
Ebay is full of second hand belts for three door Polos - will a three door belt fit my 5 door car?

No it won't
Look up the part number on your faulty belt.
Search for same number or 5 door from same MY.

But pay attention, I replaced a seatbelt for my wife her car.
Ordered one of a Polo that was 2 months older, connector insert didn't fit.
I solved this by removing the insert en replacing it with the insert of the connector from her car.
After that I could fit the seatbelt to the existing wiring.

That's really strange Maarten, did the part numbers match?

Only last letter varied.
One I bought was J, I can't remember the other
But when changing the inserts it still could be fitted.
No clue why vw would change that in 2007

There are only 2 pins.
Blue insert and I believe the other one was green of red insert

Remove the seatbelt, look for the partnr.
Look online for replacement
Takes about 30min to replace.

I removed the clamps from the battery.
It could be you have to reset airbag module.
