Hi Guys new to the forum I Need HELP please
I have a Polo 63 plate 3 door 1.2 Match, the battery started failing and then the steering pump failed, so bought a new part from AUTODOC, I couldn’t get the VCDS code from the original one and now I can’t get the new one working, I even changed the steering sensor with no luck, any ideas people, please help

if possible, share an autoscan please

I will get one tomorrow what do you need to see

change the first digits of the pump coding from 112 to 101 or vice versa please and see what happens

To change the power steering coding (Address 44: Steering Assist), it must be done with ignition switch ON and engine OFF.

The most common/normal coding for 6R is '11250'.

Could you please show us a link to the steering pump you bought at AUTODOC?
What part/reference number did you use to purchase the new steering pump?

Watching the video in its entirety it appears that sandy anderson is having trouble coding his steering pump, and has to reset the diagnostic tool to be able to code again.
The diagnostic tool that sandy uses is similar to the one you show here, please rewatch the entire video and try to code your steering pump again according to the video.

With VCDS it is much easier.

have tried following the video with our launch x431 scanner and the latest snap on Apolo scanner . The problem the codes doesn't match

what is the current coding?

The pump is suitable for your 6R, I leave you the diagram here in case you want to check the fuses.



SA4 is on top of the battery.
SB26 under the steering wheel.

So still no joy I have attached some more pictures of faults etc, we even replaced the steering sensor but that doesn’t seem to be able to see the pump to communicate, I have tried all the codes in this post any more codes would be appreciated and does anyone know if there are any specialist VW mechanics around Croydon, Surrey, UK, CR5 post code, no decent reviews of main dealer mechanics
