Coding for LED number plate lights?

I will be fitting genuine VAG led number plate lights to my wife’s Blue GT 6C, and I would like to avoid fitting ballast resistors (to prevent bulb failure messages). Does anyone know if it is possible to re-code the BCM using VCDS to tell it that led lights are installed, or if not, to turn off bulb monitoring? Maybe one for @ciclo or @lichel?
Thanks

Definitely possible on the 6C without using resitors or "CAN BUS" devices. Just change the load type of the bulb in adaptations in the BCM (Central Electrics 09). You may also be able to dim them if they're too bright but being OE units they should be plug and play.
Best course of action would be to get an adap map of the BCM, open it in a spreadsheet viewer, excel or Google Sheets and see whats what regarding bulb ID's and load types.
See my post regarding bulb ID's:

I don't think there is any monitoring on the number plate lights. You'll know for definite once the LED's are in

At my 6c the number plate lights are assigned from the "Leuchte25KZL HA60"
If is this the same to your car you have to change the adaptation for LED lights
Code: Select all
ENG124885-ENG115442-Leuchte25KZL HA60-Dimming_AB_25 100
ENG124885-ENG115446-Leuchte25KZL HA60-Dimming_CD_25 0
ENG124885-ENG115447-Leuchte25KZL HA60-Dimming_Direction_CD_25 maximize
ENG124885-ENG115451-Leuchte25KZL HA60-Dimming_Direction_EF_25 maximize
ENG124885-ENG115455-Leuchte25KZL HA60-Dimming_Direction_GH_25 maximize
ENG124885-ENG115450-Leuchte25KZL HA60-Dimming_EF_25 0
ENG124885-ENG115454-Leuchte25KZL HA60-Dimming_GH_25 0
ENG124885-ENG126600-Leuchte25KZL HA60-Fehlerort_mittleres_Byte_DTC-DFCC_25 30
ENG124885-ENG115725-Leuchte25KZL HA60-Lampendefektbit_Position_25 28
ENG124885-ENG115443-Leuchte25KZL HA60-Light_Control_HD_AB_25 Always
ENG124885-ENG115440-Leuchte25KZL HA60-Light_Function_A_25 Position lamps
ENG124885-ENG115441-Leuchte25KZL HA60-Light_Function_B_25 not active
ENG124885-ENG115444-Leuchte25KZL HA60-Light_Function_C_25 not active
ENG124885-ENG115445-Leuchte25KZL HA60-Light_Function_D_25 not active
ENG124885-ENG115448-Leuchte25KZL HA60-Light_Function_E_25 not active
ENG124885-ENG115449-Leuchte25KZL HA60-Light_Function_F_25 not active
ENG124885-ENG115452-Leuchte25KZL HA60-Light_Function_G_25 not active
ENG124885-ENG115453-Leuchte25KZL HA60-Light_Function_H_25 not active
ENG124885-ENG115437-Leuchte25KZL HA60-Type_Of_Load_25 2* 5W
So you have to change the last line the "Type Of Load" from 2*5W to "general LEDs up to 6W" or something like that.

Thanks Ciclo
The DV52 link gives a really good explanation of light channels. However I’m now confused over which is the relevant channel for the licence plate light on my car. Your diagram says HA60, but table 5C in the DV52 link says HA6 for the 6C. Which is correct?
Thanks
Mike

I'm going for HA60, but the fun thing is, you can check it!
If you search for HA60 in the adaptation list, you can check the function of the light (Function A, Function B, etc). Just see what's listed there. If it says "Position lights" in function A and nothing else, then you can be pretty sure it's the license plate light. The rear light cluster will have a parking light and/or parking light left/right assigned as well.

It's a typo (the pdf was not updated-corrected), you can be sure it's the HA60 channel for number plate lights.
It is a 58 signal that the BCM distributes to certain pins for various lights/functions... side lights, number plate lights, instrument lighting, tail lights, etc ...
Anyway, it can't possibly be 'H'A6.
In BCM PQ27, T73a/6 is for the front passenger door central locking motor -V57-.
Edit: Where it says PQ27, it should say PQ26. I'm sorry...

Right now, and due to a SW update, I am 'struggling' with what appears to be a typographical error or small anomaly

in the MQB platform adaptation channels (2016->) for the parking/side/position lights of the Inner Tail Lights.
