Lurching from standstill - engine mounts

Got a 23 plate 1.0 Life, 3rd Polo since 2018 so used to how they normally drive. Noticed that it's very hard to set off smoothly in first gear, after releasing the clutch there is a lurch which feels like the engine moving. Only way to avoid it is to hold the clutch and release it very very slowly, almost slipping it. I have also heard a knocking noise which sounds like an engine mount, maybe the drivers side or one underneath at the rear, especially in cold weather. Not sure if this is all due to a more severe clutch in newer models, or dodgy engine mount. It's going back into the dealership to look over it, not expecting miracles.
