I was recommending CRC GDI cleaner as a maintenance product to prevent/reduce build up.
It seemed to make a massive difference on its own, but I think after a good clean like this it will help to keep it clean.
Within 1000km after using I could feel the clogging up again. I think once the carbon is there the build up will accellerate.
Also not a fan of spray cleaners, but this one made an obvious difference.

Not sure about the strength of this 1.2tsi. I've already had a incident with low oil thanks to the dealership. Have a feeling it might be hurt somewhere from that, but that means pulling the bottom end apart to have a look.

Can't afford a GTI. Also, they only have DSG here. Would love a manual. Problem is most people around here hammer the GTI hard. You never know what you will get in terms of faults.

Regarding the intake, I randomly purchased a blow-off/recirculation valve last year for a very good price.
It's a Synapse Engineering diverter valve. I think it's a pull type valve. The response on it is seriously rapid.
The interesting thing with it is it runs partially open under vacuum. This sort of shortens the intake which in theory could improve throttle response a little.

Anyway, I need to make up a intake for this.

I purchased part of an intake system for the EA211 off AliExpress. I just wanted the machined aluminium ends.
These will be joined by aluminium tube to replace the plastic charge pipe.
This was cheap. They literally sent it in a Forge Motorsport box. Complete knock-off. But the quality is pretty good for the parts I wanted.

I will get them to add a port for the Synapse valve to this.

Still need to get the silicone hose that goes from intake box to turbo (it's an uncommon angle).
Into that hose I will fit a 25mm take-off port. The Synapse will return air through there.

All good fun, but I don't rush this stuff as I need to find the pieces cheap.
The only turbo car that doesn't need a diverter valve is an automatic. Manuals need diverters. VW cheaped out here with just an expansion chamber in that turbo intake pipe.

I like this car, I hate this car... I might have to ditch it for something bigger and cheaper, but we'll see. I like a challenge. :D

@Le_Combattant have you found a suitable catch can yet? Curious to see which way you go.

Sorry for the late answer, very busy this week

This is the catch can I bought.
Not the chiness product from Amazon or whatever: It's a Polish Product.

You'd do the same if it was mass produced in China. :D

Yeah for sure^^

I have to rework/adjust the catch can support because it's pretty heavy (800 grammes).

It looks like a solid chunk of metal.

Have you figured a spot to mount it? Looks fairly long.

Over geaborx, I will use the two nut using to bolt the battery support to gearbox mount. Pictures tomorrow.

Thanks, but I have to found how to fit correctly hose. And it's quite hard.
Silicon, impossible: they are not designed for oil/fuel vapours.

Nitril hose, yes, but they are thick and it's hard to fit them in a small space. And I don't want to creat to much stress on parts.
