Polo 6c wiring help

Hi all, I have recently purchased a VW polo 6c and straight away noticed multiple warnings for lights and coolant. Upon further inspection it would appear that someone has cut one of the ignition wires and wired it directly to fuse number 5. I'm assuming this wire should have gone back up to the wire left hanging near the steering column could anyone confirm this for me please?

Why has this been done ?

Hello.
Fuse No23 (the fuse you have with the arrow) is resposible for the wipers.
Take a look at the photos.

Thank you so I need to find the wire 19 green and red and rewire to fuse 19.

Does anyone know what the white and red should be connected to in picture 116.jpg as this is currently run to fuse 19?

Kind regards

If the wire is white with a red stripe then SC12

Is it is red with white stripe then SC15

Thank you, I'm guessing both these wires are SC12 spare live wires. I will try trace the old original green and red window wiper wire back and see if there are any breakages etc.

From the color of the wires and the information provided, it seems like a job related to the infotainment and 'telephony' system, although it could be anything...

From the appearance of what is shown, it does not seem like a normal or relatively acceptable botch 🤭, it is a real botch with 0.3 % spending intentions to do it. It even seems that some plastic was broken.
It does not seem that this work was done by a watchmaker, 🤔 perhaps a bricklayer apprentice or mechanic from an official dealership.

Your telling me, I'm starting to realise why the car was so cheap now

I've tested the red and white bodged wire and it has no current running through it... I've located the old green and red wires coming directly from the wiper motor and with the group of wires near the ignition barrel and they both have 9v tried reconnecting them but still not working.

(Also should this be not getting 12v)

My next port of call I'm going to run power directly to the wiper motor and see if it actually works.

Then check the washer stalk.

3rd take the dash out and see if the melted wires have affected more wiring than meets the eye.

4 new wiring harness.

Does anyone know if the Haynes manuals have a decent full wiring diagram?

All help appreciated.

Finally managed to get the Polo plugged in, would I be right to assume that the windshield stalk is more than likely to blame it's the earliest recorded fault.

Open short to ground.

Also does the reset counter mean the amount of times the fault has shown ?

Kind Regards

Update, changed the wiper stalk and run a fresh scan... Showing the following faults. Would I be right to think BCM might be no good?

I have sourced another wiring loom, I think this will be my next step before replacing the BCM completely?

Any help appreciated

I don't think the problem is the BCM, focus your efforts on connecting the wiring the right way.
