Anybody took their gt up the strip if so what sort of time did u get. On the weekend i ran a 17.8 in my gt at the stratford raceway, if so where was the strip.

I ran my GT daily driver at GTi festival which was at Santa Pod. My best time was 17.5 seconds 1/4 mile after about 4 goes.

Thats good, my go was my first and last because after that it pissed it down. Everybody that runs at stratford says they always get a slightly slower time, i dont konw if thats true or not. My run was up against my best mate in his mk 1 escort 1300, he ran a 20.

ran mine at santa pod for the retro cars show and got 16.422, 3rd ever time down a drag strip so im quite pleased but my mates 106rallye was putting in high 15's by the end of the day so i got a lot to catch up with

Good going mate, what spec is your mates 106 rallye ? I've always been intrigued by how quick they are ?

its silly quick they out out about 103bhp as standard if i remember right, they even got lightweight carpets in 'em, haha.
hes got a 1.6 GTi bottom end with the rallye head but hes had to use the series 2 head as he blew it up. hes got a 1.6gti ecu on it at the moment as hes trying to put one of those super chips on the rallyes one but its fidley as hell. haha, he manages to fit the engine etc, then when it comes to putting on a super chip he bends one of the little legs, haha.
on top of that hes got the obligitry (sp?) magnex zorst and k&n.
got em rolling roaded at retro and his is putting out 129bhp

Its keith lee's old monster on twin 40s with a stage 3 head.

on that day it was the twin 40s on a cracked manifold and the exhaust ending at the begining of the cat. where the decat pipe was welded in its snapped and keeps blowing its self off. plus it was on 14's with hooge, completly wrong tyres at least on the 13's it stays up with my mates 106 till 58ish. well, thats untill he gets his turbo lump, then im not even gonna see him!
