CJZD oil level sensor?

Had signs of an oil leak on my garage floor today.
Just came back from the garage trying to see where it might come from, but just have a leaky sump plug.

However, while I was under there I see this:

See something odd? Never actually noticed this before. Not even when doing oil change. I usually just reach back there fit the sump plug.

That sensor is Bluetooth!!1

Am I mistaken or something, but shouldn't that have a lead on it?
I couldn't see any loose leads either.
Did the CJZD in the 6C have the sensor, but not connected to anything?

Where the heck is it though?
Don't see any loose wiring hanging around.

Do you maybe know where the wiring goes to?

If this has been removed then I have a theory and it ain't pretty.

This is the oil level and temperature sensor. Im not sure of the cable route, most likely its on the backside of the engine block.

I'll dig through it in the morning. Finally have a Saturday free.

Would this not produce error codes if it not connected?

I would have thought so, unless your sales market Polo 1.2TSI 110PS is not spec'd to have an oil level fitted.

Might be. Then why sell it with one fitted? It's not like it's an inexpensive part to have fitted just to plug a hole.
Then again ... this is VW South Africa.

I'm going to check with the local VW club on this quick.

A build error at the Skoda engine plant - they do seem to make a few errors?!

Kinda stupid.
Anyway, I see now wiring hanging around for this. Would be nice to have this in place.

Can anyone with a CJZD help me locate where the wiring runs?
It's there so might as well see if it can be hooked up and enabled. Would've been nice to have when this thing near ran out of oil.

Found out where it goes. On 6R to instrument cluster, on 6C to ECU.
I guess I'll hook it up some day. No idea what will need to be enabled to make it do anything or even what the ECU is going to do when it sees it.

Will need connector 8K0 973 703 and cover 3C0 971 921.

Just weird I've never noticed it not connected.

Really weird. I wonder why the ECU doesn't report the 'fault'.

This image above appears in the engine disassembly.

Hmm... you can go to a VW dealer and ask if they are repairing a Polo CJZD and with a little luck they will let you see how the wiring is routed.🤷‍♂️

No idea at all.

I will see if I have SB18 in place as well, but as for the wiring it is just not there.

The fuse must be there, it powers other engine systems.

IMHO, it is a good challenge to know what will happen when you connect it, I think acquiring this knowledge is worth the effort.

I probably only have N205 from that list.
