Tick-over has been a little odd for months and appears to be getting worse. Had a little look and found that if I tap the body of the throttle pedal it makes things settle down to normal. Picked up a used pedal off Ebay. Matching part number etc.

But can the pedal be swapped without adapting the replacement pedal to the car? Or is there a way to get the car to sort itself out?

try maybe ignition, pedal to the floor for 20s, release turn ignition off. then turn on the car.
