Apologies if this is in an incorrect forum. It’s my first posting.

I have a 2010 1.2 polo S. Everything is normal except at night, turn headlights to on, and the dash/speedo lights go off. Turn the lights to full beam or side lights, dash/speedo lights come on perfectly, turn to normal on lights, it all goes off again…basically meaning you can’t see the speedo at night with normal beam on.

There are no other warning lights, issues. MOT pass a week ago(purchased the car 3 days after MOT pass from private sale).

Any advice appreciated. I’ve researched and it’s come up with fuses/switches…

Any modifications to the light switch?

As we all know, passing the MOT is not synonymous with everything in the vehicle working properly, it only guarantees that the vehicle can be driven without being a danger or damage to the owner/driver, but especially to other road users/inhabitants of the planet.
