Wipers - replacing every year, help!

Morning,
I have a 2019 Polo SE. I do at most 9000 miles a year in suburban areas. I have had to replace my wipers every year since I bought the car. I keep thinking that surely this can’t be normal, but they always start dragging across the screen, smearing and not clearing the water properly. I did ask last time I was at the dealership and they suggested putting washing up liquid on the blades. This did improve things for a bit but ultimately it was a short term fix and I had to replace them because it became unsafe.
Has anybody had a similar experience? I need to replace them again now, but I just think the VW ones must be no good. Does anybody use a different brand eg Bosch? How have you found them?
Thank you for your time and help if you are able to comment.

I replaced my original wiper blades with Bosch Aerotwin blades and found them to be very good - silent in operation and no juddering. I also seem to remember forum member @Harrihealey02 recommending Valeo Silenco wiper blades.
Often, the cause of juddering wiper blades can be a ‘dirty’ windscreen, so ensure your windscreen is spotlessly clean. Use a good dedicated glass cleaning product - I’m currently using Autobrite Crystal glass cleaner which is alcohol based and I find it to be very good - I wipe the wiper blade rubbers with it too. If a glass cleaner alone doesn’t work, then you could try decontaminating the screen first by using a clay bar plus a appropriate lubricant (try an internet search on ‘using a clay bar to clean car windscreen’ or similar search), followed up by cleaning with a good glass cleaning product.

Thank you very much, I’ll try both options.

The original blades on my 2019 Polo were the worst I've ever had in 60 years of driving. I too replaced them with Bosch Aerotwin. Unbelievable, the difference.

ditto ... same for me. The stock VW wiper blades were terrible even when new!

I think that VW Group, for some cars, have changed to FM, ie Federal Mogul, for suitably cheaper wiper blades at factory.
In the past it tended to be Bosch on the front and depending on "who" supplied the rear wiper Valeo.
On buying replacements, I tend to buy them online, okay now and again ECP do have a suitable/convenient deal running, but not often nowadays, the "next" set of wipers that I've bought for my wife's 2015 Polo, ie the 3rd set - it gets garaged so doesn't get hammered by the elements as much as a car kept out in the open.
For the front screen I bought the Bosch offering set specific to that car from one seller, for the rear I bought Valeo - and unwittingly bought them from Valeo UK's warehouse, I could have bought Bosch all round but the price for the rear Bosch wiper was silly from the seller that I chose, and similarly for the Valeo the price for the front wipers was silly.
Side comment:- the rear Valeo wiper from Valeo UK came in a HUGE outer box, ie very well packaged, but maybe overkill!

I replaced my 2020 Polo sel with Valeo Silencio blades one month after getting the car and have just replaced them again. Bought them on Ebay at a cost of £31.73 for front and rear blades
