Polo 9n 1.4 TDI (AMF) running rough

Hi,
Hope all are well.
Polo started running rough intermittently recently, now it seems to be most of the time.
Its down on power too when running rough. It never had any lights on the dash during this period just engine shaking and loss of power.
Gave it to my local guy and it managed to bring the EML with him, giving the following codes.
DTC 18075 - Injector valve cylinder 2; circuit malfunction - intermittent
DTC 16686 - Cylinder 2 misfire detected - intermittent
He says change the injector and the wiring loom.
I'm just wondering if others have had the same issue and just replaced the wiring loom and its solved the issue.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
