You probably have a sticker in the boot next to the spare wheel. It has all pr codes.

A vw dealership should be able to retrieve a list from etka or Partslink

I've found at least in the UK market, VW cars now don't seem to arrive at the customer with "build data" stickers on them, and as there is now no service book, no chance of finding it on there - is this typical sloppy/laziness on the side of VW UK who are fully owned by VW AG?

Best plan in my mind is, walk into your local VW dealership's parts department and ask "kindly" if they could provide you with a print out of "CAR DATA" - everything that could, or might even be, on the sticker that should be somewhere on the car's body will be on that plus a lot more which could come in useful in the future.

I've made sure that I've got that info for all my family's cars since 2000 until 2019, the last one I requested and got was for a used SEAT Arona 2019 and that was in late 2022.

If you don't want to go and ask for that which should be given FOC in theory, you could always contact CCP on FB ie Coverdale car parts, they offer this service for maybe £5 to cover their time and sending that info out to you via email.

Edit:- for your information a car's VIN will only give you manufacturer, factory of build, model type and model year build - oh, and production build serial number.

Another Edit:- your reg number is enough when asking a local VW dealer's parts department for a copy of "CAR DATA" no need, in my experience, to provide proof of ownership.
