Coolant level dropping after MOT and service

I recently took my blueGT in for MOT and service on 85k miles. A few weeks after I got a message on my dash saying low coolant, so I topped it up. Same happened again a couple weeks later. Both times it was really low.
I checked it after filling it up then driving it this time and it was at the same level that I filled to but it was bubbling. Looking online it said this could be head gasket.
Is there anything else I could check first before taking it to the garage?

Could be lot of thing:
-Headgasket
-Oil cooler
-Leak (where ?)
But if you have bubble, try to perform a C0²gaz test.

How much coolant was used to top off the level?
The coolant level changes with operating temperatures and bubbles in the expansion tank are normal at operating temperatures. These engines usually have a very slight coolant consumption (factory), nothing to worry about. Fill and ready2go.
However, ask where the service was done, you still have the right to ask without being charged again, they should have detected possible leaks if they also had to top off/refill the coolant level or had any work done on the cooling system.
The color of the coolant, and observing how and when the bubbles appear also indicate what is happening.

Could be your coolant pump housing needs replacement. Something like this which I very recently changed:
