Front screenwash

I replaced a dead screenwash pump and since then front only works once or twice before stopping. Rear wash has always continued to work and i can hear pump running when pulling the stalk towards me. Now rear screenwash works when stalk pulled or pushed! Is it a faulty pump or is it the stalk...
