6n2 2001 facelift 3 door TDI rear axle part number

Hi All
New to this forum.
I have a MK3 Polo TDI 3 door 2001 (facelift).
I am trying to find and source a rear axle but I cannot find the part number.
The more I research the more confusing it becomes. I have seen some on eBay but with drum brakes, my car has disks. Is this a problem or can you just remove the drums and replace with disks?
I believe drum brakes came with the smaller engines with the discs on the faster models (GTI/TDI).
I've been told I will need to change the rear axle at some point due to corrosion. So I I tend to buy a second hand one and get it sand blasted, painted before it is fitted to my polo. After that I am going to work on the body.
145k miles! I've had it since 2002!
Any help/advice would be gratefully received.
I am based in Wigan.
