Not Applied, I was diagnosing in an unsuitable place. I suppose it will also require the SA.

I guess, the error in 1K8 OPS module is happening due to missing handshake the 1K8 module expects from Steering control unit address 16 which our cars don't have.
I've seen a autoscan in which 1K8919472C was retrofitted with address 16 present in GW list and no such error logged.
And also, I have heard that chinese version 1KD919472A doesn't log this error and everything works correctly(PQ25, CM/DM)

The 1k8 unit also works fine, except it requests a signal from something that 'supposedly' doesn't exist.

The trick is to find out the SA of our G85 (identified in erWin as J527...?) to carry out our own investigations.
+15 signal via discrete wire or via CAN... with the translations, everything is open to 'interpretation' until more tangible and conclusive results are obtained.

It might seem obvious, but it would be interesting to have the software for that 1KD unit to compare it with the 1K8 unit's software... and doing tests without a scientific basis, that is, copying and pasting parts to isolate or find the responsible string/byte/bit... What do you think?

Since I'm making the jump from 8K (7X2) to 12K (7X5), I don't know if I'd get any positive results now.

The software is basically the same with subtle changes in two or three sectors, so it will be fairly easy to figure it out.


I suppose that for some (pq25) updating the firmware from 1K8 to 1KD will be the most reasonable thing to do.

I can happily try flashing 1KD unit on my 1K8 unit and share the results if I can get the files. The 1KD unit is available for around 40€ in Chinese domestic market not on AliExpress.
I prefer using VCP than ODIS-E for flashing these units from past experience.
I think you can try 1K8919475B 12K unit for your 12K project, it is also available for sale.
