Morning people,
Quick intro and the reason for being here, I'm helping my my son learn about and repair * his first car, a 2013 1.2 TDI Polo.
Had been around the automotive trade quite a bit (Garage equipment, bodyshop and diagnostics dealer) but moved away over 20 years ago so there's loads new to learn and find out after a couple of decades of company cars.
Reason for joining up today?
Well, my son had a bit of an unfortunate experience with a chunk of blown out truck tyre on the '62, he handled it really well and got himself safe to the hard shoulder, did everything right and called 101 to report it #prouddad
Sadly it's done some damage to his pride and joy, it's taken out his front bumper, the support bracket, I think the undertray (should it have one? It's suspiciously clean under there if not) and the car is now flashing an engine warning light (it wasn't lit or on before and it still runs and drives) so I suspect (hope) it's damaged some wiring, we're going to need some bits and probably advice.
So, hopefully the forum will put up with me asking daft questions and parts
